Having been on a diet for 3 months I couldn’t resist making chips using our freshly dug potatoes. These are worth the effort giving wonderful crisp chips.
CRISP POTATO CHIPS
Preparation and Ingredients
- Saucepan and steamer basket that fits over it
- Potatoes – peel and cut into chips
- Deep fryer
Method
- Place chipped potatoes in the steamer over a pot of boiling water, cover with a lid
- Steam for 10 minutes
- Place the steamed potatoes on baking paper on a tray and put in the freezer for 10 minutes
- Heat oil in deep fryer to 190°
- Cook the potatoes in the oil for 4 minutes until golden.
- Drain on kitchen paper and enjoy.
