Having been on a diet for 3 months I couldn’t resist making chips using our freshly dug potatoes. These are worth the effort giving wonderful crisp chips.

CRISP POTATO CHIPS

Preparation and Ingredients

  • Saucepan and steamer basket that fits over it
  • Potatoes – peel and cut into chips
  • Deep fryer

Method

  1. Place chipped potatoes in the steamer over a pot of boiling water, cover with a lid
  2. Steam for 10 minutes
  3. Place the steamed potatoes on baking paper on a tray and put in the freezer for 10 minutes
  4. Heat oil in deep fryer to 190°
  5. Cook the potatoes in the oil for 4 minutes until golden.
  6. Drain on kitchen paper and enjoy.
